# budget_exceeded

**HTTP status:** 402 (Payment required)

**Title:** Budget exceeded

## Cause

A budget with the action `stop` reached its monthly limit, so the agent no longer answers on that scope. The `budget` object of the answer says which budget, its limit and what was spent.

## How to fix it

Stop sending messages to this agent. Tell the person it is paused. Raise the limit of the budget with a PATCH on its id under /v2/budgets, or wait for the month to reset.

Do not retry. Only a person can fix this.

Every error carries `requestId` and the `Request-Id` header. Send it when you write to support.
